the Light

Now the days will grow longer and moods will improve.  The longest night has passed.  It is a couple more days until Christmas and I have spent most of a month crocheting a dress for my little granddaughter. I have just a little bit more to go before it is finished.  I did not have a pattern so I had to put it on her frequently to check the fit as I went along.  She calls it her Barbie dress.  She is two years old and the light of my life.  I am making a quilt for each of my daughters for Christmas too, but it will be around New Year's Day before I have them completed.  I got a late start because my old sewing machine broke early in the year and it wasn't until November before I was able to get a replacement for it.  Though I am working hard to finish all these projects, I am keeping a merry heart because the labor I put into these gifts is one of love.  I do not want to have negative feelings or thoughts going into my work.  As the new year enters I hope to ring it in with good cheer, and keep love in my heart all the rest of the year.  I hope the same for you. Merry Christmas to all who celebrate it and Happy New Year to everyone.
